Tel Aviv Areas
Tel Aviv might seem less friendly than it really is, so once you get there and start geting a sense of how it’s built, it’s very easy to get around. Basically, you have the sea to the west and five major streets that run more or less parallel to it, and are part of what’s considered the city center.
The Herbert Samuel Promenade runs along the beach. One street to the east you’ll find Ha’Yarkon Street. Both run from Jaffa all the way to the port in the north, and it’s where most of the city’s hotels can be found. One street farther away from the seaside is Ben Yehuda St., which is filled with hostels, backpacker hotels, tacky souvenir shops and what not. Even further east is the city’s main street – Dizengoff, home to clothes shops, antiques and jewelry stalls, and numerous cafes. The city center’s eastern border is Ibn Gabirol Street.
In addition to these streets, the city can be divided into 15 parts or neighborhoods that are relevant for tourists:
