Jaffa
Jaffa is not Tel Aviv, although it’s there in the name Tel Aviv-Yafo. There are pros and cons when choosing to sleep here. Those who want to be near party central, the best beaches and more modern surroundings – rest your head on a Tel Aviv pillow, and don’t think twice about it. But if you are up to something a bit different, away from the mayhem, in the heart of picturesque and ancient environment, it’s a good bet you’ll find here just what you’re looking for.
Old Jaffa Hostel (13 Amiad) is at the heart of the Flea Market and is a funky-bohemian atmospheric place located in a renovated old Turkish building and filled with Arabic furniture and family pictures. It’s not as expensive as Tel Aviv hostels, and if you want to be away from the city this is a perfect quiet spot. The coffee, tea and cookies in the morning are free. Ruth Daniel Residence (47 Jerusalem Boulevard) is another good Flea Market choice.
