The beach gets its name from, you guessed it, the Hilton hotel that sits directly above it. The most important aspect about this beach is that it’s attached to Gan Ha’Atzmaut (Independence Garden), a favorite with the local gay crowd. So Hilton Beach has become the unofficial gay beach, where Tel Aviv’s vibrant and growing gay community go to surf, tan, swim, and show off pecks and abs.

If you want to walk your dog on the beach, Hilton Beach’s northern parts are the only section of Tel Aviv’s beaches you’re allowed to do so.
