Climate and Weather

There is a line in an Israeli rock song that says “Tel Aviv has no autumn”. The city has indeed mostly a (very) long summer that stretches from about June to October, but you shouldn’t be surprised to wake up to 25-30C days in what’s supposed to be the dead of winter.

In July and August it can sometimes get unbearably hot in midday, so it’s always best to plan the day accordingly. The temperatures can easily cross the 35C threshold. Being a coastal city, humidity can reach up to 80 percent or even more, all year round. The combination of 35C degrees and 100 percent humidity equals three showers a day.

During winter, the nights can be cold, and you’ll certainly need warmer clothes now and then, but you probably won’t forget too often you’re in the Middle East, as temperatures rarely fall below 10 C. And even when it rains, it won’t last longer than a few hours a day for 2-3 days, and then the sun will come out again.
